When shopping for groceries, bear in mind not all grocery items are halaal, always look for certifications from the organizations mentioned in Topic 2 on the products you would like to buy. If there is no certification on the product, but the product itself is not a meat or beverage product, double check the ingredients to ensure they are all safe ingredients. For example, water and milk would not need a certification, but jelly sweets or other treats will as many companies use pork gelatine or alcohol flavourings.
